I’m working on a book!

Inspired by the many calls from folks in my online ace community for ace- and aro-focused media, I started work on something cool: a YA novel with ace and aro protagonists!

It’s a project I’ve been thinking about for a while, honestly. I’ve wanted to write a book about my high school theatre life (the first community I found in this world that really felt like home), and the challenges of being a queer kid into theatre growing up in the Deep South.

I’m centering this story on two ace/aro protagonists — Mo and Benny — who are gearing up for the final show of their high school career: the musical, Carrie. They both have big dreams of taking their theatre careers to New York, and they find in each other something deeper in common: the ace and aro experience.

Right now, it’s called They Will Break Your Heart. Working title. But I’m really excited about telling their story.
